The Scion iQ is midengined, making it similar to Nissan’s GT-R LM Nismo in being the extraordinarily rare front-midengined, FWD vehicle. This also places it in the same heritage of midengined production Toyota products as the LFA (FMR), the MR2 (RMR), and the Previa (FMR and FM4). When adding in the Scion iQ (FMF), you realize that you can exclusively collect midengined Toyota products and have a near complete collection without duplicating powertrain layouts for less than $9,000. It’s just that LFA you’ll need to work towards.

I think it’s right on the FR/FMR line.

I think you’re splitting a lot of hairs here. You could say my old 300ZX was FMR, but in reality, like most front engined cars, the engine was floating somewhere above the front wheels.
